That research paid off because after owning this juicer for a year, we're still as thrilled as the first day it arrived. I bought it from cooking.com because Amazon wasn't selling it at the time. The price seems to be about the same still.
My wife and I juice everyday and the juicer is sooo easy to clean. Just put a plastic bag in the pulp receptacle and you're good to go. One less item to wash.We use a toothbrush on the blade basket and a regular sponge on the bowl. The blade/basket and bowl are stainless steel.Those infomercial juicers use cheap plastic wherever possible. Trust me, you're only paying for advertising with those TV juicers. This is the real deal. It's quieter than our blender and one large apple, 3 carrots and two oranges yields us two massive glasses of juice. It also has a small foot print.I bought one for my mother and my wife is getting one for her sister.
If you have a large family you might want to skip the mini and go for the regular sized L'Equip but many online reviews say that the mini is actually better for some reason. All I can say is that it is more than enough for a family of four.After a year, the blades are still sharp although not as sharp as new but still going strong. If you're looking for THE BEST JUICER for less than 100 bucks this is it!!

(More customer reviews)Love this oven. I don't know how much electricity has been saved since we hardly ever use our large oven any more. I would bet it's quite a bit, not to mention all the heat we keep out of the house. " Which is a good thing when you live in Florida ". We generally use this oven a couple of times a day, so it definitely has had plenty of use in the last 2+ years and it's still working like the day we got it. Nearly every thing I cook is done in here. Unlike a microwave oven, meat and chicken brown beautifully, also works great on garlic toast. It also can be set for a delayed start if needed.This works out just fine for the 2 of us, since we don't make large meals, even though this will hold a 8 or 9 lb roast or turkey " Larger if you order it with theextender ring ". This does cook quite a bit faster than a conventional oven, but not as fast as they say it does. And yes it does cook from frozen, it will take longer of course. There cooking chart tells you how long to cook individual items that are frozen or not frozen.All and all this oven has worked out exceptionally well for us, we would be lost without it.

The digital timer can be set from minutes to hours, depending on your needs. The temperature can also be set from 190 deg. to 400 deg. When the timer turns off, the temperature will automatically reset to 190 deg and keeps your food at that safe temperature till you turn the oven off. A nice thing about this oven is the interior is lit up, so you can watch everything cooking. This oven is extremely easy to clean, there is a heavy glass liner on the bottom that comes out easily and is dishwasher safe. That goes for the stainless steel rack also. For most items we generally put aluminum foil on top of the rack, so cleanup is a snap we just throw the foil out. The clear plastic dome very rarely needs cleaning, since the food rarely splatters. But if it does, it's just a matter of wiping it out with a damp cloth.

About 3 1/2 years ago I bought the NuWave oven from a TV commercial. I cost about $130 with shipping the oven and a extra plastic gadget they give you, buthave to pay shipping for. It stopped working in 13 months, one month after the guarantee was up. I liked the way it cooked, but decided to look for an alternative oven. I found this one for less money, without the extra gadget and free shipping. So far I am very well pleased with it, and would highly recommend it.

I really like making jerky with Nesco's spice mixes.It had never occurred to me to build a shed out of it, as suggested in the product's description.One must have to really overdry the meat for it to hold up structurally.What happens when it rains?And how many pounds of sliced beef would be required?It seems like wood would be a lot less expensive building material.But not nearly as tasty!

(More customer reviews)This smoker looks like a good one.It was easy to assemble and easy to get started with the first smoking project.Thermometer seemed to work just fine and the construction of the cabinet is nice and sturdy.The smoking was uniform and relatively easy to maintain the temp.The cast iron chip tray is a little heavy and unweildy, I may switch to the coffee can technique so it is easier to change the smoking ships/chunks.Overall, it is a good smoker and I am happy with the purchase.

(More customer reviews)I have owned this smoker for about a year now. I must say I was less than impressed when I received it. It seemed a lot flimsier(sp) than I had thought it woud be. The legs are very weak, and one needs to be careful when moving the smoker around. I fired it up for the first time to burn off all of the grease, and other things that would ruin your first smoking attempt. First of all use a lighter to start the smoker. If you use the igniter provided you will blow yourself up.

The smoker is single wall constructruction, so the wind affects it significantly. If it is cool out, and windy it is hard to keep the temperature steady. I solved this problem by buiding a shed onto the side of my shop, for the smoker. I also converted it to natural gas, as it consumed a great deal of propane. The control knob is not indexed properly, so what it says is wrong as far as the settings are concerned. You need to look at the flame to actually see where it is set.

Now that it is on Natural gas it has been a good smoker. I cook about every weekend for others. I do mostly pork sholders, and ribs. I put 6 to 8 pork sholders in at a time. I load up the wood box only once during the whole process. It actually only produces smoke from the wood for about 2 hrs. I leave it this way for 8 hrs. I then remove the meat, and wrap each sholder in foil. It then returns to the smoker for another 4 hours. It always comes out where it is juicy, and just falls apart. The whole time I try to maintain a temp. of 200 deg. I never put water in the pan. This helps it develop a bark on the meat. As the juices drip into the pan they develop a very good smoke. Also put something under the smoker to catch the grease. It will make a mess if you don't.

Bottom line is you can find a better smoker for the money. If you already have one you can make it work just fine.

(More customer reviews)am a casual user of the food dehydrator, mainly for beef jerky. I had always used thin cut steak and marinated it for a day or two and then dehydrated. Well, I received a Nesco dehydrator for christmas which had jerky spice packets included with it. Reviewing how these packets worked, i saw that it called for ground meat, a new concept for me. Well, I broke down and got this item and mixed up a small batch, and I am never going back to the steak. It took a while for me to perfect which flavors to use, but this is as close to store bought jerky you can get. My best batch is 3lbs of 96%lean ground beef, one Hot & SPicy pack, One teryaki pack, and One original pack...with one 4 oz bottle of Hickory Liquid smoke...and presto...Store bought beef jerky. I have a Nesco dehydrator (see my other review nesco fd-60), and 3 lbs ground beef fill all the trays with the flat jerky strips. Lowrey's beware. And it's quick to make this, no marinating or cutting up beef, just buy the meat, mix the spices in, and into the gun it goes, and little formed strips of beef come out the gun. It's just like a caulk gun. I make the flat strips, but this kit comes with the capability to make beef sticks as well, which are awesome as well. Try this jerky fans, you will not be disappointed

(More customer reviews)Well, I hate to say this, but you all know the point of an oxygen absorber.You also know that once they do their absorbing, that's pretty much it. They ship with cute little hot pink tablets that turn blue when exposed to oxygen.This is obviously so that you know whether or not they are ruined, and if the seal you thought you had is broken.NEW ones should get to you in a very redshifted state, but mine are a pleasant but unfortunate target pattern of violet, lavender, and dull grey-pink. In other words, both entire packages of 50, (total 100) are shot, and that's they way they came out of the box. The shipping box was undamaged, no nicks in the plastic vacuum bag, they're just plain ruined.This is like buying camera film that's already been exposed. I have to assume that they're kind of old, and over time sitting on a shelf somewhere thev're leaked. Either that or the people who first put them into the vacuum bags did it too slowly. You have to work fast with those things.I'm kinda screwed on this batch. Rats.

Lesson learned: if you order these things, maybe put in a note for the seller to look at the exposure tablets and only ship you red ones.Otherwise you might as well toss an old sock in- it will absorb just as much oxygen as these things will.

Nesco Add-A-Tray for FD-1010/FD-1018P/FD-1020 Review

(More customer reviews)Not a whole lot you can say... the product is as described. Fit my FD-1010 dehydrator perfectly. They're the same exact trays as the ones that came with the dehydrator. I've now accumulated 6 total trays. Will probably go up to 12. I plan on reviewing how well the dehydrator works when that many trays are loaded on. It says it's expandable up to 30 trays, but I cant imagine the heat would reach the top very well with 30 trays. Plus you'd have to put it on the floor with that many trays cause it'd be too tall to sit on the counter ;.).

The only negative thing I could say about these is the price (I paid ~20 USD after tax/shipping). After all, it's just a piece of plastic. There was a lot of resellers of this product at the time I first bought it, so I thought there should be a little more competition and lower prices. I would've already bought a lot more if they were cheaper. Oh well.

[update 1/24/08]
Finally got around to using these. they worked great, however, cleaning them was a pain in the A$$. I put them in the dishwasher on low heat, and they warped. Ridiculous that a $10 tray isn't made dishwasher safe, especially something that hard to clean.
